Grateful Dead tribute jam night with members of The Werks, The Quasi Kings and Friends Of The Dead, part of The Summit's 'Weird Wednesday' series.
A Grateful Dead Super Jam is coming to The Summit Music Hall on Wednesday, October 28, with members of The Werks, The Quasi Kings, and Friends Of The Dead taking the stage. It's a tribute jam session built around the music of the Grateful Dead, and it's presented by Friends Of The Dead.
The lineup pulls from several local staple bands, with members of The Werks and The Quasi Kings joining in, along with other special musical guests. The jam format means the set is built on the Grateful Dead songbook, with different musicians stepping in and out throughout the night. It's less of a fixed band and more of a rotating cast of Columbus players working their way through the catalog.
The night is part of the venue's 'Weird Wednesday' series, which they bill as 'only 10 bucks, once a month.' The series brings together Columbus' most Deadicated fans to celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead, and this particular jam is the October installment. If you've been following the series, you know the drill: a mid-week gathering of local musicians and fans around the same set of songs.
