Holiday gingerbread house decorating session at the Beer Hall, with each ticket including a gingerbread house, decorating supplies and a CBC beer pour.
Columbus Brewing Company is hosting a gingerbread house decorating session at their Beer Hall on Sunday, December 6, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's a straightforward afternoon: you get a gingerbread house, all the supplies you'll need to build and decorate it, and a .4L pour of any CBC beer to sip while you work. The brewery bills it as a way to get into the holiday spirit, and since it's a two-hour window, there's plenty of time to take your time with the icing without feeling rushed.
If you haven't spent much time there, the Beer Hall is worth a look on its own. It's a 13,000-square-foot room inside a historic landmark in Franklin Park, built in the late 1800s. It started out as a mechanic's shop for the trolleys that ran down Broad Street and throughout Columbus, and it's been preserved as a landmark ever since. These days it pours 24 draft beers and serves globally inspired food, with a private event space that still shows off the original brick walls and wood ceilings. They also run a Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 5 PM, so if you're in the neighborhood on a weekday, that's a good time to drop in.
