Friko and Nine Perfect Lives live performance, presented by WCBE.
Friko play A&R Music Bar on Saturday, October 31, with Nine Perfect Lives opening. The Columbus date is presented by WCBE.
Friko is a Chicago-based power-pop trio fronted by Niko Kapetan, with Bailey Minzenzenberger on drums. They made a name for themselves at SXSW 2023, playing packed showcases that turned their Austin debut into a must-see. Back home, they've drawn support from the Chicago scene, championed by peers like Horsegirl, Lifeguard and Free Range. Critics have pointed to their ability to hold multiple musical extremes at once: Kapetan's lyrics interrogate a life given over to music, and the compositions evoke rock and folk icons like Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake. Their live shows flicker between explosive rock, chamber pop and serene sonics, with Kapetan's emotive vocals at the center.

Their setlist usually pulls from 'Something Worth Waiting For', 'Still Around', 'Choo Choo', 'Alice' and 'Certainty', and they often throw in a New Order cover of 'Ceremony'. The show starts at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM.
