Guided walk led by Sarah Flecker to see autumn foliage at its peak and learn the science behind the season.
Franklin Park Conservatory is hosting a Fall Foliage Walk & Talk on Sunday, October 25, from 1 PM to 2 PM. The walk starts at the AEP Foundation Education Pavilion, located at 1777 E. Broad Street in Columbus, and takes you through the grounds just as the foliage hits its peak color in late October. It's a guided tour, so you're not just wandering on your own—you'll be walking with a group and picking up the science behind the season as you go.
Along the way, the views open across Franklin Park, and the conversation turns to Ohio's native trees and the seasonal cycles that change them. It's the kind of thing that's easy to appreciate on your own, but having someone point out what's actually happening gives you a bit more to look for when you're out in the city during the fall. The walk is open to all ages, so it works whether you're coming solo or bringing the family.

Leading the session is Sarah Flecker, a Community Outreach Educator at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. She comes to the walk with a background in horticulture and environmental education, which is where the "talk" part of the title comes from—she'll be the one filling in the gaps on the science and the native trees you'll see. The whole thing runs for an hour, from 1 PM to 2 PM, and costs $12, or $9 for members.
