A dance party for women, trans and non-binary folks with 80s, 90s and 2000s pop, hip-hop, new wave and R&B, with 10% of ticket proceeds to a local non-profit.
Earlybirds Club is back at Newport Music Hall on Friday, October 23, with DJ Strawberry on the decks. It's a dance party built for women, trans, and non-binary folks, framed as a supportive space where kindness, good vibes, and sensible footwear rule. The organizers pitch it as more than just a night out: a judgment-free dance floor built on joy.
The music covers a wide stretch of pop and dance from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, pulling from pop, hip-hop, new wave, and R&B. That's a lot of ground to cover in one night, and the mix spans three decades of songs you likely know by heart. DJ Strawberry handles the selectors' chair for the evening.
There's a charitable side to the night, too. Ten percent of ticket proceeds always go to a local non-profit, and for this one, the money goes to the Susie Lee Legacy Fund. It's a built-in way to support a local cause while you're out dancing.

One of the most distinct things about Earlybirds is the timing. The party runs from 6 PM to 10 PM, and the organizers explain the early call by saying, "we have shit to do in the morning." It's a dance night that lets you be home and in bed at a reasonable hour. Doors open at 6 PM, and tickets are limited to four per order.
