Adult technology class that demystifies artificial intelligence and its role in daily life through discussion and demonstrations.
AI For Beginners is coming to the Linden Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library on Wednesday, October 21, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. It's part of the library's Digital Skills for Life series, an adult technology class run in partnership with Goodwill Columbus. The session is held in Study Room A at the Linden Branch, 2223 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, OH 43211.
The class is designed to demystify artificial intelligence by looking at how it already shapes daily life. You'll see it in virtual assistants, recommendation systems, and generative AIβthe kind of tech that's become a constant in the background of most of our days. From there, the conversation opens up to the ethical questions and the future of the technology, so it's not just about how it works, but what it means as it keeps evolving.
It's a discussion-and-demonstration format, meaning you'll get to see the tools in action rather than just hearing about them. By the end, the goal is to walk away with a clearer sense of what AI actually is, why it matters, and how pervasive its influence has become. If you've been hearing the term everywhere and want to get a handle on it without feeling overwhelmed, this is a good place to start.
