Guided walk and talk about conifers at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is hosting a Conifer Walk & Talk on Saturday, December 19. It's exactly what it sounds like: a guided walk through the conservatory's conifer collection, with a talk to go along with it. If you've spent any time around the grounds, you know the conifers are some of the most distinct things they grow, and this is a chance to see them with someone who can actually tell you what you're looking at.
Since it's a walk and talk, you'll be moving through the collection rather than sitting in one spot. The focus is on the conifers—the pines, spruces, firs, and the rest of the needle-leaved family—so you'll get to see them up close and hear about what makes them tick. It's a good way to spend a Saturday morning if you're into plants, and it's a bit more active than just wandering the greenhouses on your own.

It's happening on December 19, so it falls right in the middle of the winter season, which is a fitting time to focus on the trees that stay green while everything else is dormant. If you're already planning to be at the conservatory that weekend, this is an easy addition to the trip. Tickets are $12, and it's $9 for members.
