Free ambient electronic night by CoastalDives, the solo project of Casey Cooper, played on analog synthesizers at I Like It Like That Bar.
CoastalDives plays I Like It Like That on Thursday, October 29, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. It's a solo electronic project run by Casey Cooper, who also plays in The Receiver, Mt. Air, Did'ja, and Sgt. Peppercorn Marathon. His ambient compositions carry a neo-classical influence and are performed on analog synthesizers.
Cooper has spent a good deal of his time scoring for screen. His debut LP, All Small Bodies, served as the official soundtrack to Jennifer Reeder's 2017 short film of the same name. The single "I Dream You Dream Of Me," from the Sleepwalk EP, premiered at MoMA in 2019, and "The Dunes" was written for a Hulu short. Since then, he's scored art installations and the feature film Night's End, released on Shudder and AMC.
His most recent work is Lineage, his second release on the Data Airlines label, which came out on February 23, 2024. It was built from analog synthesizers and computer manipulation, mixed by Danny Kalb and mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri. That's the sound he brings to the stage: analog synths and computer manipulation working together.
