Paint-and-sip Halloween class to create a black-light skull (calavera) painting with vibrant colours and flowers, with an optional DIY soy candle.
Pinot's Palette is hosting a BlackLight Festive Calavera paint class on Sunday, November 1, from 4 PM to 6 PM. It's part of their Halloween paint-and-sip program, so it fits right into the season. The whole session centers on a black-light skull painting that you customize with vibrant colors and flowers, and you're encouraged to put your own modifications on it, so no two will come out the same. You don't need any painting experience to join in; the atmosphere is built around music and having a good time rather than getting every brushstroke perfect.
If you want to make a full afternoon of it, there's a DIY candle option for an extra $25. You'll need to arrive half an hour early to pour your own all-natural soy candle in a scent of your choice, and it cures while you paint, so you leave with both your artwork and a custom hand-poured candle. Between the two, you'll walk out with two things you made yourself in one go.
Pinot's Palette Short North is in the heart of the Short North Arts District on N High Street, between Russell and Buttles. There's street parking nearby, and the Joseph, Hub, and E Goodale garages are all just a few minutes' walk away. Every Pinot's Palette is owned and operated by local small-business owners, so this one is run by people right here in the community.
