World premiere production of Swan Lake by choreographer Edwaard Liang Wörtmeyer, with live music by the Columbus Symphony, including a senior dress rehearsal and pay-what-you-want performance.
BalletMet brings Swan Lake to the Ohio Theatre from February 19 to 21, 2027. It's a world-premiere production choreographed by Edwaard Liang Wörtmeyer, and it's performed with live music by the Columbus Symphony, so you'll have a full orchestra in the room rather than a recording. The production is part of BalletMet's 49th season, a seven-ballet program that runs through 2026 and 2027.
If you've been following the season, Swan Lake is one of several distinct pieces they're staging. The lineup includes Marilyn, the story of Marilyn Monroe told through ballet; The Nutcracker; My First Sleeping Beauty, a one-hour sensory-friendly ballet for children ages 3 and older; and CARMEN.maquia, a modern take on Bizet's opera choreographed by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano. Single tickets for Swan Lake have been on sale since August 1.

There are a few different ways to catch it. The run opens with a senior dress rehearsal on Friday, February 19, at 11 AM—a good pick if you want to see the company work through the production before the official opening. The main performances follow, and the run wraps up with a pay-what-you-want performance on Sunday, February 21, at 5:30 PM, which keeps the show open to whoever can make it. Tickets range from $38.65 to $121.60, and the Ohio Theatre is at 39 E. State St. in downtown Columbus.
