All-ages, cashless indoor show by the Canadian mantra-rock duo Angine de Poitrine at KEMBA Live!
Angine de Poitrine play KEMBA Live! on Friday, May 7, 2027. The duo is the Canadian act of brothers Khn and Klek, hailing from Saguenay, and they call their sound "mantra-rock dada-pythago-cubiste." It's a mouthful of a description, but it points to exactly where they sit: somewhere between a rock show and a piece of avant-garde art.
At first glance, the music comes across as asymmetrical and dissonant, but there's a danceable core to it. The songs are built on solid drum grooves, and over the top, complex microtonal guitar entanglements take on a festive, rock'n'roll exuberance. It's the kind of thing that sounds like it should be falling apart but somehow holds together, and it works well enough to get people moving.
They're also known for a zany, eye-catching costumed look that's hard to miss on stage. Along the way, they've won a Polaris Prize, inspired their own tribute bands, and shared stages with figures as unlikely as Shania Twain. A KEXP session and a performance on Fallon brought them a wider audience, and this Columbus date is part of a massive 2027 world tour running from March through July across Oceania, North and South America, and Europe.
