Drop-in, free guided session with a CMA educator to discuss a single work of art on display at the Columbus Museum of Art.
10 Minutes on the Dot is back at the Columbus Museum of Art on Thursday, October 15, from 6:00 to 6:10 PM. It's a pop-up series that does exactly what the name says: you spend ten minutes with a CMA educator talking through a single work of art. Instead of skimming through a whole gallery, you get a close look and a deep dive into one piece, and the educator handles the heavy lifting on the context.
That's the core of it, and the beauty is in the variety. The series moves across different works on display, so each session focuses on something different. If you're already spending the afternoon at the museum, it's an easy way to slow down and actually look at one thing for a bit. If you're just dropping in for the session, it's a low-commitment way to engage with the collection without needing to commit a whole day to it.
Finding your way is straightforward. Signage near the museum's Welcome Desk points you toward that day's featured artwork, so you don't have to hunt for it. The experience is open to all ages, and there's no registration required—you just show up. It runs as a drop-in format throughout the year, and this particular session is also part of the museum's ARTober program, which brings together a bunch of art-focused events across the city during October.
