The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra performs iconic rock anthems and power ballads of Journey, part of the Sandra and Leon Levine Pops Series.
The Music of Journey comes to the Knight Theater on Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20, 2027, with both shows running 7:30–9:30 PM. It's part of the Charlotte Symphony's Sandra and Leon Levine Pops Series, which brings popular music from celebrated stars and beloved icons to life with the power of a full orchestra. The set focuses on Journey's rock anthems and power ballads—the kind of songs defined by driving guitar riffs and sky-high falsetto notes—and works its way through the tracks that ruled the airwaves of the 70s and 80s, including "Don't Stop Believin'," "Wheel In The Sky" and "Any Way You Want It."
On stage, Juan del Castillo takes the vocals and Brent Havens conducts, backed by a full band and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The two nights give you a choice of when to go, and since they're the same program, you only need to pick one. The show is part of the symphony's 2026-27 season, which is its 95th overall. Music Director Kwamé Ryan is in his third year at the helm, and Emmy-nominated American composer Levi Taylor is the Spotlight Artist for the season.
