Rock band Switchfoot performs live on their The Forever Now Tour, supported by Anberlin, at The Fillmore Charlotte.
Switchfoot are playing The Fillmore Charlotte on Thursday, November 5, as part of The Forever Now Tour, a 38-city U.S. run that takes its name from their latest album. They're not coming alone: Anberlin is on the bill too, so it's two bands in one night.
Forever Now is the most thematic and narrative-driven record they've put out. It's 13 tracks built around the emotional roller coaster of a person's final day of life, produced by Mike Elizondo at his Phantom Studios near Nashville. The set will lean into that new material, but they're keeping the older songs in the mix, too. You'll hear the new single "Absolution" alongside the ones most people know, like "Meant to Live" and "Dare You To Move."
It's a long run for a band that's been at this for a while. The San Diego quintet, fronted by Jon Foreman, has released 11 albums since 1997's The Legend of Chin. Along the way came the multi-platinum The Beautiful Letdown in 2003, the Grammy-winning Hello Hurricane in 2009, and Fading West. Europe holds a special place in their history: it's where they went on their first tour, sleeping on park benches in London to save enough money to surf in France.
