Sharon Pointe Apartments TreeDay

TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree planting day at Sharon Pointe Apartments on Thursday, November 19. It's a straightforward morning of getting trees into the ground, and it's open to all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a solo project.

The morning runs from 9 AM to 12 PM, which is a good window to get your hands dirty and be home for lunch. The whole point is to add more canopy to the neighborhood, and since it's a community event, you'll be working alongside other people from around the area. It's the kind of thing that's easy to drop into for an hour or two, or to stay for the full three if you're in the mood to keep digging.

TreesCharlotte is the organization behind it, and they're the ones bringing the trees and the tools to the site. If you've never planted a tree before, that's not a problem—the event is set up for volunteers of all experience levels, and the open-to-all-ages part means it's a fine way to get kids involved in something tangible. You'll be working on the grounds of Sharon Pointe Apartments, so the new trees will stay right there in the community.

It all happens on Thursday, November 19, from 9 AM to 12 PM at Sharon Pointe Apartments in Charlotte. If you want to see more or sign up, you can find the details at treescharlotte.org/event/sharon-pointe-apartments-treeday/.
