North Charlotte Zip Codes TreeAdoption 2026

TreesCharlotte is hosting another TreeAdoption event on Saturday, November 7, at 701 Tuckaseegee Road in Charlotte. This one is specifically for residents of zip codes 28216, 28269, and 28262, who can stop by to pick up and plant trees in their own yards. It runs from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, so it's a morning thing.

They'll have a mix of species to choose from, ranging from small flowering trees and canopy-builders to evergreen screening, so you can pick whatever fits your spot best. TreesCharlotte is a nonprofit that relies on donations to put these events together and give trees to Charlotte residents, and this is one of the ways they get them into the ground.

There are a few things to keep in mind before you head out. Registration is required, and it opens on Wednesday, October 28, at 10:00 AM. It stays open until the trees sell out or until 11:59 PM on Thursday, November 6, and each registration is limited to two trees maximum. Everyone who picks up a tree has to go through a planting demonstration, so you'll leave knowing how to actually get it in the ground the right way.

They also have a couple of rules about how these trees are used. Reselling them or using them for profit is prohibited, and doing so will get you banned from future TreesCharlotte events and adoptions. Also, any Mecklenburg County resident who has already adopted more than 20 trees through their TreeAdoption events is no longer eligible to participate. If you're in one of those three zip codes and have some room for a new tree, mark October 28 on your calendar for registration.
