Community tree planting day at Nia Point, open to all ages with registration available in February.
TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree planting day at Nia Point on Friday, March 19, 2027. It's a morning spent getting your hands dirty for a good cause, and it's open to all ages, so it's as much a family thing as it is a solo project. If you've been looking for a way to get involved with the city's canopy, this is a straightforward place to start.
The morning runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, which is a nice window—you're in and out before lunch, and you'll have spent a couple of hours putting something in the ground that'll still be there long after we're gone. It's the kind of event where the work is the whole point: digging holes, setting the trees, and making sure they're tucked in right. If you've never planted a tree before, don't sweat it—these days are usually set up so you can just jump in and help out.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Charlotte and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Registration opens in February, so you'll want to keep an eye on the calendar around then if you're planning to join. Since it's open to all ages, it's an easy one to bring the kids along to, and you can spend the morning working side by side. The whole thing is run by TreesCharlotte, the organization behind the planting, and it's happening at Nia Point here in Charlotte. It's a community day in every sense of the word—people from around the neighborhood coming together to add some more green to the city. Mark the date on your calendar: Friday, March 19, 10 AM to 12 PM at Nia Point.
