Next Move

Dance Artist Alliance CLT is hosting Next Move at The Long Room on Sunday, October 18. It's a morning and early afternoon session that runs from 10 AM to 2 PM, so it's one of those events you can get through and still have the rest of your Sunday open.

The day is built around a few different things happening in one place. There are dance workshops, live performances, and a roundtable discussion, so you can spend the morning moving, watch a few pieces, and then sit in on a conversation about the work. The networking side is a big part of it too — it's as much about meeting other dancers and artists in the city as it is about the dancing itself.

Because it's a mix of workshops and performances, you can pick your own pace. If you're there to dance, the workshops are your main draw; if you're there to watch, the live performances take center stage. The roundtable brings those two together, putting the artists in a position to talk through what they're doing rather than just showing it. It's a day that lets you move from being a participant to an audience member and back again.

Next Move is presented by Dance Artist Alliance CLT, and it all happens at The Long Room in Charlotte. It runs from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, October 18.
