Community tree planting and care day at Myers Park High School, open to all ages.
TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree planting and care day at Myers Park High School on Saturday, January 30, 2027. It's a morning spent getting your hands in the dirt, and it's open to all ages, so you can bring the kids along if you're looking for something to do with them over the weekend.
The day is split into two parts: planting and care. You'll be putting new trees in the ground across the campus and spending time on the ones that are already there, which usually means things like mulching and watering. It's the kind of work that's easy to jump into regardless of whether you've ever gardened before, and it's a good way to spend a few hours outdoors if you're usually stuck inside.
TreesCharlotte is the organization behind it, and they're the ones coordinating the whole thing. The event is open to everyone, so you don't need to be a student or a parent at the school to show up and help out. It's a community day in the truest sense—anyone who wants to spend a morning planting trees in Charlotte is welcome.
