Community tree care volunteer activity at Mallard Creek High School, open to all ages.
TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree care volunteer day at Mallard Creek High School on Thursday, April 8, 2027. It's a morning spent outdoors working on the school's trees, and it's open to all ages, so you can bring the kids along if you're looking for something to do with them.
TreesCharlotte is a nonprofit that works across Mecklenburg County to get more trees into the ground and keep the ones we have healthy. They run a TreeAdoption program for county residents, distributing trees across several Charlotte zip codes—South Charlotte, Mint Hill, Matthews, Pineville, and West Charlotte are all part of the reach. This event is one of the ways they get people involved on the ground, and they list their volunteer opportunities on their site, marked with a blue ribbon.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Charlotte and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The day runs from 10 AM to 12 PM at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, so it's a two-hour window on a Thursday morning. If you're around and want to spend a bit of time helping out with the local canopy, that's the one.
