Indie rock artist Kurt Vile performs live at the Neighborhood Theatre, with opener Twisted Teens. 18+ event requiring valid ID.
Kurt Vile brings his band, the Violators, to the Neighborhood Theatre on Sunday, November 22, with Twisted Teens opening. Vile is a Philadelphia artist whose sound moves between alternative, indie folk and indie rock, and this stop comes as part of the tour for Philadelphia's Been Good to Me, the double LP he put out in his hometown earlier this year.
He produced most of the record himself, with help from Adam Langellotti, Matthew Jugenheimer, Kyle Spence, Jesse Trbovrich and Rob Schnapf. Vile describes it as his best vocal, electric-guitar and most organic record, and the title track is an ode to Philadelphia. One of the songs, "Chance to Bleed," features guest spots from Natalie Hoffman and Greg Cartwright, and its music video was shot at Kung Fu Necktime with a cameo by Schoolly D. Another, "You Don't Know Cuz It's My Life," builds to the chant "I'm from Phil-a-del-phiaaaaaaah!"
