A concert by the folk duo Indigo Girls at the Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts.
Indigo Girls play the Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts on Tuesday, October 27, at 7 PM. The folk duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray has been playing together for over 35 years, a career that started in clubs around their native Atlanta, Georgia.
Their 1989 major-label debut, Indigo Girls, sold over two million copies and produced the hits "Closer to Fine" and "Kid Fears." Since then, the multi-Grammy-winning pair has recorded sixteen studio albums and sold more than 15 million records. Their latest, Look Long, reunited them in the studio with their strongest backing band to date.
Outside the music, they've spent decades as activists, working on immigration reform, LGBTQ advocacy, education, death penalty reform, and Native American rights. They co-founded Honor the Earth, a non-profit focused on sustainable Native communities and Indigenous environmental justice. The show is presented by Blumenthal Arts and NS2.
