Hadestown: Teen Edition, a poetic retelling of an ancient myth, presented by RAH! Theatre at the Stage Door Theater.
RAH! Theatre brings Hadestown: Teen Edition to the Stage Door Theater from October 15 to 17, a three-day run in the heart of Charlotte. It's a poetic retelling of an ancient myth that centers on storytelling, love, and the idea that art can change the world. If you're familiar with the original, this is the version adapted for younger performers, though the core of the story remains the same.
The venue is the Stage Door Theater at 155 North College Street, an intimate and flexible room tucked into the Bank of America Corporate Center footprint. It shares that same footprint with the Blumenthal Arts Center and Founders Hall, so it's right in the middle of the city's cultural hub. The room is small, which keeps the audience close to the action—something that works well for a show built around storytelling and song.
There are four performances over the three days. It opens Thursday, October 15, with an 8 PM show, followed by another 8 PM on Friday, October 16. Saturday, October 17, is the double: a 2 PM matinee and an 8 PM evening show. If you're coming with a group of ten or more, you get 10% off.
