Community tree planting and care day at Greenville Park, open to all ages.
TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree planting and care day at Greenville Park on Saturday, February 6, 2027. It's called the Greenville Park Phase II TreeDay, and as the name suggests, the morning is all about getting new trees in the ground and looking after the ones already there.
If you've spent any time in the park, you know it's one of those spots where the canopy makes a real difference, and this is a chance to help keep it that way. The day is open to all ages, so it's as much a family thing as it is a solo project. You don't need to be an expert gardener to help out—planting a tree is straightforward work, and there's plenty of room for anyone who just wants to spend a few hours outside doing something useful for the neighborhood.
TreesCharlotte is the organization behind it, and they're the ones who handle the logistics of getting the trees into the park. The focus is on both planting and care, which means the morning isn't just about digging holes; it's also about the ongoing work that keeps a young tree healthy long after the planting day is over. It's the kind of thing that's easy to overlook until you're actually out there doing it.
