End of Season TreeAdoption 2027

TreesCharlotte is hosting its End of Season TreeAdoption event at 701 Tuckaseegee Road on Saturday, March 20, 2027. It's a morning for Mecklenburg County residents to pick up a few trees and get them in the ground before the planting season closes. The event runs from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, so you'll want to be there early.

The selection covers a good bit of ground. You'll find small flowering trees, canopy-building varieties that'll grow into something substantial over the years, and evergreens for screening. Depending on what your yard needs—whether it's a bit of color in the spring, a tall shade tree for the summer, or a living fence for privacy—there should be something that fits. It's not just one kind of tree; it's a mix of species to choose from.

There are a few things to keep in mind before you head out. Registration is required, and it's limited to two trees per household. If you've adopted more than 20 trees through TreesCharlotte's adoption events in the past, you're no longer eligible to participate. Everyone who picks up a tree has to go through a planting demonstration, so you'll walk away knowing how to actually get it in the dirt and keep it healthy. And just a heads-up: reselling these trees or using them for profit is prohibited.

TreesCharlotte is a nonprofit that relies on donations to put on events like this and to get more trees into the hands of Charlotte residents. The adoption is open to Mecklenburg County residents only, and since registration is required, you'll want to sign up ahead of time. The event is on Saturday, March 20, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at 701 Tuckaseegee Road.
