Community tree planting day organised by TreesCharlotte in the Dukes Ridge neighbourhood.
TreesCharlotte is bringing a community tree planting day to the Dukes Ridge neighborhood on Saturday, February 26, 2027. It's a straightforward morning of getting trees into the ground, and they're looking for volunteers to help out.
If you've never done a TreeDay before, the setup is pretty simple: you show up, get paired with other volunteers, and spend a couple of hours planting trees throughout the neighborhood. It's a hands-on way to add to the local canopy, and since it's a community event, you'll be working alongside your neighbors in Dukes Ridge. You don't need to be an expert gardener to join in—the organizers handle the technical side, so you can just focus on the digging and planting.
TreesCharlotte is the organization behind the whole thing. They're a Charlotte-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding the city's tree canopy, and these planting days are one of their main ways of getting new trees into the ground across different neighborhoods. This particular one is focused on Dukes Ridge, so if you live in or around that part of town, it's a chance to work right in your own backyard.

The planting runs from 10 AM to 12 PM, so it's a short window on a Saturday morning. You'll be out in the neighborhood for two hours, and by the time you're done, there will be more trees in Dukes Ridge than when you started. It's a low-stakes way to spend a morning outdoors and leave something behind that'll keep growing long after the day is over.
