Free theatre skills class for children at Tuckaseegee Recreation Center, sponsored by Culture Blocks.
Children's Theatre of Charlotte is bringing a free theatre skills class to the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center starting Monday, October 5. It's a series of sessions for kids, and the whole thing is free.
The classes invite children to celebrate creativity and explore the artist within through guided theatre and art activities. It's not about putting on a full production; it's more about the process—playing with performance and art in a way that lets kids just be creative. If you've got a child who loves to make things up or stand in the spotlight, this is exactly that kind of space.
Behind the scenes, the program is sponsored by Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County. The idea is to connect residents with arts, science, and history experiences in the places they already go—local libraries, recreation centers, parks, and community spaces. They partner with creative individuals and organizations to bring these kinds of programs to specific neighborhoods, and this one lands at Tuckaseegee.

Just a heads-up: the October 12 session might be cancelled because of a federal holiday, so it's worth checking in before you head out that day. You'll find the classes at the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center, 4820 Tuckaseegee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28208. Entry is free.
