Free Veterans Day festival with live music, a free lunch, bounce houses, local club tables and military vehicle displays at Romare Bearden Park.
The Carolinas Veterans Day Festival returns to Romare Bearden Park on Saturday, November 7, from 11 AM to 3 PM. It's a Charlotte tradition that's now in its fourth year: every November the city gathers at the park to celebrate Veterans Day a bit early alongside the service members, veterans, and families who make up the community. The festival is organized by Veterans Bridge Home, a non-profit that uses the day to connect veterans to services, careers, and community. It's designed as a no-cost way to celebrate, and you don't have to have served in the military to come along.
The afternoon fills the park with a few different things happening at once. There's live music and a free lunch while supplies last, and bounce houses for the kids. Local clubs and organizations set up tables, and military vehicle displays are on hand to look at. There's also a community awards presentation. It's the kind of day that works as a family outing, with something to do whether you're there for the music, the vehicles, or just to hang out in the park.
