Annual pottery festival featuring over 80 local artists, food vendors, coffee, flowers and live music in South Charlotte.
Carolina Clay Matters is hosting its Fall Pottery Festival on Saturday, October 17, at 8300 Monroe Rd in South Charlotte. It's an annual event put on by the Carolina Clay Matters Pottery Guild, and it brings together seasoned professionals and emerging ceramicists from across the greater Charlotte area. If you've ever wanted to see how much the local pottery scene actually stretches, this is a good place to start.
There's a lot to look at. More than 80 local artists will be showing their work, and the range covers just about every way clay ends up in a home. You'll find handcrafted pieces for the kitchen and dining room, creative and unique jewelry, and ceramic art for the house, walls, and garden. There's also holiday décor, which is a nice thing to get a head start on while the weather is still holding up.
The festival is held at its original location on Monroe Road in South Charlotte, and it's more than just the booths. Food vendors, coffee, and flowers round out the day, and there's live music playing throughout. There's also a raffle prize drawn at the info booth, so if you're feeling lucky, that's where you'll want to stop.
