Boney James

Boney James plays the Knight Theater on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 8 PM. The show is presented by Blumenthal Arts and The Sol Kitchen.

If you're not familiar with the name, James is a multi-platinum saxophonist, composer, and producer who's been at this for more than three decades. He turned professional at 19, cutting his teeth touring with Morris Day, The Isley Brothers, and Teena Marie before releasing his debut album, Trust, in 1992. Since then, his catalog has racked up more than two billion on-demand streams in the United States, and he's picked up four Grammy nominations, three NAACP Image Award nominations, four RIAA Gold-certified records, and a Soul Train Award.

Billboard named him one of the Top 3 Contemporary Jazz Artists of the 2000s, alongside Kenny G and Norah Jones. In 2024, he became the first artist to score 20 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart, so he's coming into this date with a long run of chart-topping records behind him.

The show is at the Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts, 430 S Tryon St, in Uptown Charlotte. Tickets start at $65.13.
