Bluegrass Jam

Birdsong Brewing Co. hosts a bluegrass jam every first Wednesday of the month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's a co-production with the Charlotte Folk Society, and the whole thing is built around the pickers: if you play, you're invited to jam along with the brewery. The session is open to all skill levels, so you don't have to be a pro to jump in.

Birdsong Brewing Co. has been a part of Charlotte's craft beer community since it opened on North Davidson Street in 2011. It's a regular spot for live music and other events, and those usually don't come with a cover charge. The jam fits right into that—it's free to attend, and you can bring your instrument if you want to play, or just come and listen if that's more your speed.

It's a pet-friendly night, and all ages are welcome, so it works as a mid-week outing with your dog or with the kids. There's seating both inside and outside, depending on the weather, and food trucks are on site. If you're a regular, it's worth keeping in mind that the brewery releases a new beer every Thursday, the day after the jam.
