A play by Tre Floyd Productions in which six Black strangers attend a group therapy session, exploring identity and community.
Black Girl Therapy comes to the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Arts Center on Saturday, October 17, presented by Tre Floyd Productions. It's a play centered on six Black women, all strangers to one another, who gather for a group therapy session. The premise is simple: the therapist asks each woman to choose a number that defines who she is. From there, the session unfolds as they share their stories and get to know each other.
What sets this one apart is that the audience isn't just watching from the seats. You're invited to join the session and figure out what your own number might be, so you're part of the conversation rather than just an observer. It's the kind of setup that turns a play into something more like a shared experience.
