Community tree planting and care day at Ballantyne Ridge High School, open to all ages.
TreesCharlotte is hosting a community tree planting and care day at Ballantyne Ridge High School on Saturday, March 6, 2027. It's a morning spent getting your hands dirty for a good cause, and the best part is that it's open to all ages, so you can bring the kids along and let them help out.
The morning is split into two parts. The first half is the planting: putting new trees into the ground across the school campus. The second half is about care, which means tending to the trees that are already there. Between the two, you'll see how a young tree gets started and what it takes to keep it healthy as it grows. It's a simple way to spend a Saturday morning that leaves the campus a little greener than you found it.
TreesCharlotte is the organization behind the day, and they're the ones who handle the logistics and the trees themselves. The whole thing is open to everyone, regardless of whether you've ever planted a thing in your life or you're a seasoned gardener. If you've got a family or a group of friends who want to do something together outdoors, this is a good spot to start.
