You Shall Not Yassss!

You Shall Not Yassss! comes to the Wales Millennium Centre on Friday 30 October, part of the venue's cabaret programme. It's a drag and cabaret show that takes the characters from Tolkien's Middle-earth and gives them a drag makeover, with the performers putting their own spin on some of the most well-known figures from the franchise. It's produced by Ham It Up Productions and fronted and run by London drag superstars HERR and Me!, who lead the cast through the reimagined world.

The show has been playing to sell-out audiences across the South East of England since it debuted in 2022, and this is its first Cardiff date. It lands on Halloween weekend, which fits the theme well enough if you're already in the mood for something a bit theatrical and out of the ordinary. The whole thing is held in the Weston Studio, one of the smaller spaces inside the centre, so it'll be a more intimate setting than the main stage.

One thing to keep in mind before you book: the show contains strong language and is for ages 18 and over, so it's definitely for an adult crowd rather than a family outing. If that's your speed, it's a good way to spend the start of the Halloween weekend.

It runs on 30 and 31 October, with the show starting at 8pm and doors opening at 7pm. You can find tickets and more details over at the Wales Millennium Centre website.
