A 60-minute yoga practice led by Amanda Ataou around Techniquest's Gaia installation, with time to relax and view the artwork.
Amanda Ataou is leading Yoga with the Earth at Techniquest on Tuesday 20 October, from 7pm to 9pm. The session is built around Gaia, Techniquest's new installation of the Earth by artist Luke Jerram, which was created in partnership with the Natural Environment Research Council, Bluedot, and the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres, with support from Culture Liverpool and Liverpool Cathedral.
The evening starts with a 60-minute yoga practice led by Ataou, who blends vinyasa, yin, and restorative styles. She describes the practice as working with yin and yang-inspired movement to explore grounding and connection, with the aim of leaving you feeling lighter, brighter, and more balanced. After the yoga, there's half an hour to relax with a herbal tea and the Gaia soundtrack, followed by a 360° planetarium journey through the solar system.
Ataou is the founder of MandaYoga Studios and Cardiff Yoga School, a Senior Yoga Teacher and accredited Teacher Trainer with more than 20 years of practice and over a decade of teaching experience. The whole thing is set around Gaia, the installation that gives the night its name, so you'll be practising in the presence of Jerram's version of the Earth.
