Wales Autumn International rugby match between Wales and Japan at Principality Stadium, part of the inaugural Nations Championship.
Wales take on Japan at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 7 November, kick-off at 16:40. It's the first of three home fixtures in Cardiff this November, with New Zealand and Australia to follow on consecutive weekends. The match is part of the inaugural Nations Championship, billed as rugby's newest title, which pits the twelve biggest international teams against each other.
The two sides have met 13 times since their first full Test in 1993, with Wales winning 11 and the Brave Blossoms taking two. Their most recent encounter, in the 2025 autumn series, ended in a dramatic 24-23 Wales victory decided by a last-kick penalty. That win snapped a record run of 10 successive home Test defeats and handed new head coach Steve Tandy his first victory. Before that, Wales had ended an 18-match losing Test run with a 31-22 win over Japan on 12 July 2025.
