The Stylistics perform their classic 1970s hits live at New Theatre Cardiff as part of Black History Month 2026.
The Stylistics are playing the New Theatre on Saturday 31 October, the final night of Cardiff's Black History Month events. It's a soul night built on the songs they made famous in the early seventies, when they put together ten top-ten hits in a row. If you've got a soft spot for that era, you'll know the ones: 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' got a Grammy nomination, and 'Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)', 'I'm Stone in Love with You', 'Let's Put It All Together', 'Sing Baby Sing' and 'Rockin' Roll Baby' all followed. The set will be a run through those classics.
They're a Philadelphia soul group, and that Philly sound is all over the records — elegant vocal arrangements, close harmonies and a direct, romantic style. It's what made them one of the city's best-selling groups, and it's also why they've always had a particularly loyal following here in the UK. That's the sound they'll be bringing to the New Theatre: the same vocal-led soul they've been known for since the seventies.
The show is presented as part of Black History Month 2026, and it's the closing act of the month's events in Cardiff. It falls on the final Saturday of October, so it's a good way to wrap up the month's programme. If you're bringing anyone under 16, they'll need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
