A night of cabaret, variety and burlesque curated by Oola Pearl at the Wales Millennium Centre, featuring circus sensations, drag royalty and comedians.
The Pearl Revue comes to Wales Millennium Centre on Saturday 7 November, a night of cabaret, variety and burlesque curated by Oola Pearl. It's produced by the Welsh production company Quill & Pearl Presents, and the whole thing is tied together with a comedy bow.
Pearl's bills pull together a wide cast: circus sensations, drag royalty, burlesque icons, vaudeville charmers, sideshow daredevils and comedians. She describes the line-up as 'the Cabaret Avengers... with tighter pants and more rhinestones'. It's a variety show in the truest sense, with different acts sharing the stage rather than one headliner carrying the night.
The show is staged in The Cabaret, the venue's dedicated cabaret space, which is billed as 'bringing a taste of Soho to Cardiff Bay'. It's described as an inclusive hub of high-octane drag, comedy, burlesque, live bands and avant-garde gig theatre where 'everyone belongs'.
