Bilingual storytelling sessions with Babis Bach Babies, blending Welsh, English and BSL, for Halloween.
Babis Bach Babies are back at the National Museum Cardiff on Saturday 24 October, part of a bilingual storytelling series that runs across the city this autumn. The sessions are built around live music from classically trained musicians and interactive storytelling, and they're designed for children from birth up to age seven.
The whole thing is bilingual, blending Welsh, English and British Sign Language to open it up to more children. The idea is to support early years education by encouraging language learning in both Welsh and English, introducing topical themes through song and movement, and building confidence through participation. For this particular date, the theme is Halloween, so expect the stories and songs to lean into that.
It's a relaxed format, which makes a difference when you're heading out with little ones. There are free sensory packs available from the Main Desk, and a quiet room right next to the Oriel Suite if anyone needs a break from the noise. The 2.30pm session also includes BSL interpretation by Cathryn McShane-KouyatΓ©.
