Club night featuring post-punk, indie and rock acts including Wolf Alice, Wet Leg and Amyl and the Sniffers.
Starburster returns to Clwb Ifor Bach on Friday 16 October, bringing its club night back to the venue for another run of post-punk, alt, and indie. It's a late one, running from 11:30pm through to 4:00am, with last entry at 2am, so it's more of a night out than a standard gig.
If you're wondering what the night is about, the organisers describe it as bringing the loudest new sounds in post-punk, alt, indie and beyond. The line-up they've worked with in the past gives you a good sense of the territory: Fontaines DC, Amyl and the Sniffers, Wet Leg, Fat Dog, LCD Soundsystem, Getdown Services, Wolf Alice, PVA, Kneecap, Bodega, Adult DVD, CMAT and Working Men's Club. That's a wide spread, from the jagged edges of post-punk and the dancefloor-ready side of alt-rock to the more melodic indie and the raw energy of the newer bands coming through. If you've been following any of those names, you've got a decent idea of the kind of music that finds its way onto the night.

It's an over-18s night, and the tickets are £2.50 to £4.50, so it's a low-stakes way to spend a Friday night in the city. With the music going until 4am, it's built for staying late rather than heading home after the first act. Clwb Ifor Bach is at 11 Womanby Street, Cardiff CF10 1BR.
