A hands-on course for young people aged 11-15 to design and print their own t-shirt using professional printmaking and heat-transfer techniques.
Platfform and The Printhaus are teaming up for a free merch-making course for 11 to 15-year-olds, running across four sessions this November. It's part of Platfform, the Wales Millennium Centre's youth programme — a training initiative that gives young people a platform to explore their interests, express themselves and build creative confidence through practical learning.
Over the four sessions, the group will learn professional printmaking skills and heat-transfer techniques. There's no previous experience needed, so it's open to anyone in that age bracket who's never touched a screen or a heat press before. By the end, everyone takes home a limited-edition Platfform t-shirt they've designed themselves, and the course includes an exclusive visit to The Printhaus Studio.
The sessions are split between two Cardiff venues. The first three run on Wednesday evenings — 11, 18 and 25 November, from 5pm to 7pm — at Platfform Stiwdio inside the Wales Millennium Centre. The final session is a full day on Saturday 28 November, 10am to 4pm, over at The Printhaus Studio in Chapter Arts Centre. You'll need to make all four to get the full run.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Cardiff and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
