Sir Lenny Henry returns to the stage in a new live show blending stand-up, storytelling and conversation, marking his first live comedy tour in over 15 years.
Sir Lenny Henry is back on stage at the New Theatre on Tuesday 13 October, his first live comedy tour in more than 15 years. The show is called Still At Large, and it's been in the making for about 18 months. It's not a standard stand-up set; it's part stand-up, part storytelling and part conversation with himself, running for around one hour and 50 minutes including an interval. It's also part of Black History Month 2026.
Henry's a Black Country native and one of the most prominent black British comics working today, known for sending up his Jamaican roots and his parents' immigrant experience. He jumped from children's television to his own eponymous sketch show in 1984 and co-founded Comic Relief in 1985. Beyond comedy, he's taken on serious acting roles, from playing Othello on stage to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Witcher. He won New Faces in 1975, and he's said he always thought of stand-up as his job and everything else as his career.
So this is a return to that job. The show blends the stand-up he's known for with storytelling and a conversational style, and it runs for nearly two hours with an interval in the middle. It's his first tour of this kind in over a decade and a half, and it's being performed as part of Black History Month.
