Stand-up comedy show by James Barr, a nominee for Best Show at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, performed at the Cabaret venue.
James Barr brings his stand-up show Sorry I Hurt Your Son (Said My Ex To My Mum) to the Cabaret at the Wales Millennium Centre on Sunday 18 October. It's a darkly comic reckoning with shame, survival and a pushy-wushy down the stairsy-wairsy.
Barr comes to Cardiff on the back of a strong run at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, where the show was nominated for Best Show at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards, NextUp's Biggest Award in Comedy and the Queer Performers Award. It was named one of the best-reviewed shows of the Fringe, with reviewers calling it brave, funny and gloriously empowering.
The venue is the Cabaret room, which the Wales Millennium Centre bills as bringing a taste of Soho to Cardiff Bay. It's a hub of high-octane drag, stand-up, burlesque, live bands and avant-garde gig theatre, run as an inclusive space where everyone belongs. Barr's set fits right into that mix.
