A high-energy live show celebrating the iconic hits of the UK's 2Tone and Ska era, featuring Madness, Bad Manners, The Specials and more.
House of Fun play the New Theatre on Thursday 15 October, starting at 7.30pm. It's a touring theatre show that works its way through the hits of Madness, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Specials, The Selecter and The Bodysnatchers, and it's one of 67 dates they're taking across the country.
If those names ring a bell, it's because they're the bands that defined the UK's 2Tone and Ska era. The show is built around that sound, and the setlist pulls from the biggest names of the scene: Madness, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Specials, The Selecter and The Bodysnatchers. It's a full-throttle live show, and they describe it as celebrating the sound, style and attitude of that era, with non-stop dancing, hands-in-the-air choruses and the raw excitement of a live gig.
It's not just for people who were there the first time around, either. The production is aimed as much at those who lived through the original scene as at audiences discovering the revival for the first time, so it works whether you've got a long history with these records or you're just coming for the songs. All are welcome, and under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
