Family-friendly immersive cinema screening of Little Shop of Horrors in the medieval Undercroft at Cardiff Castle, with spooky decorations and an eerie ambience.
Little Shop of Horrors is coming to The Undercroft at Cardiff Castle on Saturday 31 October, as part of the Halloween Underground Cinema. It's a family-friendly screening, so it works as a Halloween afternoon out with the kids as much as a trip for anyone who just likes the film.
The setup is what makes it: for the day, the castle's stone-vaulted Undercroft is turned into an underground cinema, complete with spooky decorations and an eerie ambience. The whole programme runs from family-friendly Halloween favourites through to full-blooded horror, with multiple screenings throughout the day, so this is one of several you can pick from. The film itself is Frank Oz's musical comedy about a shy flower shop assistant who discovers a strange plant that grows, talks, sings and demands to be fed. It's celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and the cast is a good one: Rick Moranis as Seymour Krelborn and Ellen Greene as Audrey, with special appearances by Steve Martin as a bad biker and Bill Murray as a demented dentist. It's rated PG and runs for 94 minutes, presented by Darkened Rooms.
