A live show by best-selling author and psychologist Emma Kenny, exploring the twisted motivations of notorious killers through real-life case studies and psychological analysis.
Emma Kenny brings her new live show, Murderous Minds, to the New Theatre on Wednesday 28 October, starting at 19:30. It's a brand-new piece of work from the best-selling author, psychologist and crime commentator, and it follows the nationwide sell-out run of her previous show, Killer Couples.
Kenny works from her background in psychology and crime analysis to take the audience inside the motivations of some of the UK's and the world's most notorious killers. She looks at the delusional beliefs and hidden traumas that drove them to kill, and the ways they rationalised what they did. The show mixes real-life case studies with storytelling, and it's built around the things we think we know about morality, identity and the line between sanity and madness.
It's a night that sits right in that gap between a true-crime deep dive and a live performance. If you've spent any time with her books or her crime commentary, this is the live version of that same line of thinking. The focus is on the 'why' behind the crime, rather than just the 'what', so it's as much about the psychology of the people as it is about the cases themselves.
