A hilarious new musical based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, following best friends George and Harold as they bring their favourite character to life on stage.
Dog Man: The Musical comes to the Donald Gordon Theatre in Cardiff on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October. It's a new stage show based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, who also wrote Captain Underpants and Cat Kid Comic Club.
The story follows George and Harold, now ten, who decide to write a musical about their favourite character, Dog Man: a crime-biting hero who's part dog, part man and all hero, with the head of a dog and the body of a policeman. He sets out to save the city from Flippy the cyborg fish and his army of Beasty Buildings, and to catch Petey, the world's most evil cat, who has cloned himself to take revenge on Dog Man.
It's a family show, so it works as a trip out with the kids. The age guidance is 5+ (no under 2s), and all under 16s have to be seated with an adult aged 18 or above. The running time is about an hour and 20 minutes, including one interval, which makes it a manageable length for younger audiences.

There are four performances over the two days. On Friday 16 October, there's a 6pm show. Saturday 17 October has three: 11am, 2.30pm and 6pm. If you're taking the kids, the Saturday morning or afternoon slots might be the easiest to fit in.
