Dirty Dancing returns to Cardiff as part of a UK and Irish tour, bringing the classic story of Baby and Johnny to the stage with a full cast of dancers.
Dirty Dancing returns to Cardiff from 20 to 24 October, playing at the Donald Gordon Theatre in the Wales Millennium Centre as part of its UK and Irish tour. It's the hit film brought to the stage, following Baby and Johnny — two fiercely independent spirits from different worlds — through what becomes the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives. The production is billed as 'the biggest live theatre sensation of all time', and it carries the story with a full cast of dancers.
The score leans on the film's biggest hits, with 'Hungry Eyes', 'Hey! Baby', 'Do You Love Me?' and '(I've Had) The Time Of My Life' all making an appearance. The Donald Gordon Theatre seats up to 1,900, so there's plenty of room for the dance numbers to stretch out across the stage.
There are a few access performances to keep in mind if you're planning your visit: British Sign Language on 22 October, a captioned show on 23 October, and an audio-described performance and touch tour on 24 October. Age guidance is 12+ with no under-2s, and all under-16s have to be seated with an adult aged 18 or over.
