Comedy show where Dan Schreiber presents an evening of astonishing facts and hilarious tales from his investigations into the weird.
Dan Schreiber brings This Changes Everything to the Sherman Theatre on Saturday 17 October, playing in the Studio in Cathays. It's a comedy show built around the kind of things that usually end up as a long, rambling conversation at a pub — the strange facts and odd stories that make you stop and wonder why on earth any of it is true.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, you've probably heard his voice. Schreiber is one of the hosts of the QI podcast No Such Thing As A Fish, which Tim Minchin described as "Hilarious. Sideways. Brilliant." He's also the award-winning author of The Theory Of Everything Else, a book Louis Theroux called "Utterly compelling and totally bizarre". That's a good starting point for what he does: he spends his time digging into the weird corners of the world and then figuring out how to tell those stories to an audience.
This Changes Everything is an evening of astonishing facts and hilarious tales drawn from his latest investigations into the world of the weird. He describes it as straddling the space between sense and nonsensibility, which is a fair way of putting it — it's the kind of show where the punchline is often that the truth is stranger than anything you could have made up. If you're the sort of person who loves a good "did you know?" and doesn't mind a bit of the absurd, this is exactly your territory.
