Stand-up comedy from Chris Ramsey, known for his podcast Shagged Married Annoyed, with a limited autumn run.
Chris Ramsey brings his latest show, Here, Man!, to the New Theatre on Friday 16 October, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's a stand-up set from the Geordie comic, and the Cardiff date comes as part of a limited autumn run added after his spring tour sold out.
If you've come across Ramsey through his podcast, Shagged.Married.Annoyed, which he co-hosts with his wife Rosie, you'll recognise the territory Here, Man! draws on. The show takes the podcast's focus on marriage and domestic life and brings it to the stage. Critics have called him a 'brilliantly engaging natural storyteller', and that's a fair summary of how he works: he's a conversational comic who builds his sets around stories rather than a string of one-liners.
He's been on the circuit since 2007, and a good part of his profile has come from the panel show circuit. You'll have seen him on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Celebrity Juice, and he's done stand-up on Russell Howard's Good News and Live At The Apollo. He also acted in the BBC Two sitcom Hebburn, and has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Taskmaster. He presents Children in Need and, as mentioned, records the weekly marital podcast Shagged.Married.Annoyed with Rosie.
